Does Humana Cover Acupuncture?
Many Humana plans provide coverage for acupuncture when medically necessary for chronic low back pain.
Typically, eligible plans cover up to 20 acupuncture visits per calendar year:
Up to 12 visits are covered within a 90-day period.
Up to 8 additional visits may be covered when treatment remains medically necessary and the patient demonstrates improvement.
Coverage for conditions other than chronic low back pain may not be available under your plan.

Once everything is confirmed, we schedule your appointment.
Humana HMO plans typically require a referral from your primary care provider (PCP) before treatment can begin. Humana PPO plans generally do not require a referral.
